MTC: Week 2

My week has been so good! It went by so fast!! This next week is going to be great too!

Classes are great, our district is still great!! Love them so much.  I have a picture with all of us! From the top left, it's Elder Holloway, Elder Zohner, Elder Scott, Elder Gillett, Sister Penrod, Me, Sister Giles, and Sister Miller.  Then on the bottom is Elder Schofield and Elder Williams.  They are all so great!

MTC District

Sister Giles is from Bountiful! So when we come home, we should be on the plane together, which will be so fun!

We got our travel information on Friday! We have a connecting flight in Georgia, but our flight is pretty early. Either 7:00 or 8:00 in the morning, I can't remember. But I got my phone card, so I can call y'all ;) It's gonna be so fun getting there on the Fourth!!! But guess what?! We get our information and we have a travel leader. And guess who ours is?? Yeah. Me. It's probably not even that big of a deal, but I'm low key stressed, on account of I don't even like planes, and I don't really know how this whole thing even works. But whatevs!

So on Saturday, we got to hang up the flags out front for our service and that was the coolest ever!! We had to do Canada for President Monson's mission, and Germany for Uchtdorf. But it was so fun! Best service ever!!! We also had to vacuum. But that was cool too.

Guess what?! Tomorrow we get to host!! I'm so excited!! I love when the new missionaries get here, it's so fun, and I hope I can be as good of a host as mine was! Oh, and we're in the choir, and singing a sweet song tonight! The choir is huge, there's like 1,000 missionaries singing in it! And on Sunday, our district is singing Come Unto Christ in sacrament meeting and when we practice I almost cry. I love it. Because that's our whole purpose as missionaries, to bring others to Christ. And on Saturday all of the missionaries get to go celebrate our independence by watching the fireworks from the Stadium of Fire! It's gonna be great!

"DearElder.com" letters

Hope your next week is grand as well! Thanks for the emails, and for still doing the dearelders! They help more than you know. Love you all so much!!!

Being a missionary is the best! Love it. Love y'all!

First P-Day

Because Kylie didn't have a lot of time to write an update email, I pieced together the couple of paragraphs that she wrote with what she sent to me:

Meghan came by Sunday night to say goodbye and she and I laughed at the jokes you sent. I saw Sister Perry at least once every day!! And Elder Hatch all but one. I saw Trisha like twice. It was such a blessing! I love them so much. Meghan and I talked for like an hour, and it was MUCH needed. And she brought me pretzels and peanut butter. It was kind of hard to say goodbye all over again, and I'll miss seeing them around because it made my whole day, but that's okay. They're going to be awesome!

The MTC is a crazy place. The first few days, I seriously just kept waiting for it to get hard like I thought it would. You know how everyone says, "Just make it to Sunday!" Yeah. Well, it was like opposite for me. Church was good, and our temple walk was good too. I love our zone! Our old Zone Leader is from Australia, but he left this morning. My district is so awesome!!!! All of the elders are going to St. Louis, and all of the sisters are going to Mississippi! So that's fun, but I'm seriously going to miss those Elders. They are so funny! I'll for sure be letting Elder Josh Roundy know that a great group of Elders are headed his way. My companion is Sister Giles, she's sweet, but all of us Sisters kind of just hang out together anyway.

The food is okay. I eat a lot of bananas and apples. I ran 2 miles today which was good, but I'm pretty out of shape. The most surprising thing would probably be how much fun I have here. Sometimes I just sit here and imagine all the missionaries I know being here.

Tomorrow we're getting about 700 new missionaries and about 200 new mission presidents. So they've cut off the cafeteria, and a new mission president is going to teach us on Wednesday and Thursday, and almost all of the apostles are going to be here so that is pretty cool. Oh, and I'm surprised how much I still just feel like me. One of my least favorite parts are the showers. I hate them. And the now limited food choice. My classes are pretty cool. Our teachers are good, but more than anything I think I just like meeting all the people.

Hermana Griggs was definitely a tender mercy. She was SO dang sweet. Like, I haven't even cried yet. So that's good, I guess. She made the transition so much better for me. The Dear Elder notes make my day!

The MTC is a pretty cool place! I do miss home, and being able to run around going on adventures with my best friends, but I wouldn't trade this experience. I'm learning, I'm growing, and it's good. I hope you are all doing really well. You're in my prayers.

More than anything, just know that I know that we have a Heavenly Father who loves us, and will help us if we ask. Missionary work is truly blessed and not a day has gone by that I'm not grateful to be a part of it.

Love you all!

She's Off On Her Way

Hermana Griggs (from Arkansas) met us at the curb with an infectious smile and a big hug for Kylie.  I didn't get a very good photo of her entering the MTC, but she was happy and excited to be there. Love this girl so much!!!

Lord I Would Follow Thee

Well, I'm off!! Thanks for all of the support and love, I love and will miss you all.
God be with you 'til we meet again!
