First P-Day

Because Kylie didn't have a lot of time to write an update email, I pieced together the couple of paragraphs that she wrote with what she sent to me:

Meghan came by Sunday night to say goodbye and she and I laughed at the jokes you sent. I saw Sister Perry at least once every day!! And Elder Hatch all but one. I saw Trisha like twice. It was such a blessing! I love them so much. Meghan and I talked for like an hour, and it was MUCH needed. And she brought me pretzels and peanut butter. It was kind of hard to say goodbye all over again, and I'll miss seeing them around because it made my whole day, but that's okay. They're going to be awesome!

The MTC is a crazy place. The first few days, I seriously just kept waiting for it to get hard like I thought it would. You know how everyone says, "Just make it to Sunday!" Yeah. Well, it was like opposite for me. Church was good, and our temple walk was good too. I love our zone! Our old Zone Leader is from Australia, but he left this morning. My district is so awesome!!!! All of the elders are going to St. Louis, and all of the sisters are going to Mississippi! So that's fun, but I'm seriously going to miss those Elders. They are so funny! I'll for sure be letting Elder Josh Roundy know that a great group of Elders are headed his way. My companion is Sister Giles, she's sweet, but all of us Sisters kind of just hang out together anyway.

The food is okay. I eat a lot of bananas and apples. I ran 2 miles today which was good, but I'm pretty out of shape. The most surprising thing would probably be how much fun I have here. Sometimes I just sit here and imagine all the missionaries I know being here.

Tomorrow we're getting about 700 new missionaries and about 200 new mission presidents. So they've cut off the cafeteria, and a new mission president is going to teach us on Wednesday and Thursday, and almost all of the apostles are going to be here so that is pretty cool. Oh, and I'm surprised how much I still just feel like me. One of my least favorite parts are the showers. I hate them. And the now limited food choice. My classes are pretty cool. Our teachers are good, but more than anything I think I just like meeting all the people.

Hermana Griggs was definitely a tender mercy. She was SO dang sweet. Like, I haven't even cried yet. So that's good, I guess. She made the transition so much better for me. The Dear Elder notes make my day!

The MTC is a pretty cool place! I do miss home, and being able to run around going on adventures with my best friends, but I wouldn't trade this experience. I'm learning, I'm growing, and it's good. I hope you are all doing really well. You're in my prayers.

More than anything, just know that I know that we have a Heavenly Father who loves us, and will help us if we ask. Missionary work is truly blessed and not a day has gone by that I'm not grateful to be a part of it.

Love you all!
